Pakistan Embassy College, Beijing is a well-known international college in Beijing located in the diplomatic compound of the Embassy of Pakistan. The college meets not only the educational needs of the Pakistani nationals but also caters to a large number of children of the diplomatic corps and expatriate community. It was started in 1969 as Pakistan School Peking. It was later upgraded to a full fledged college. Ever since, it has made steady progress in providing quality education and maintains very high academic standards.

Admissions

The school follows British system of education English being the medium of instructions. Students may be enrolled in the college starting Lower Kindergarten right up to Advance-Levels (A-Levels). However, after grade 8, two systems of education become operative: Intermediate and Secondary System of Federal Board of Education Islamabad, Pakistan and O-Level & A-Level System of London University (Edexcel).

Currently more than 350 students are enrolled in the college out of which more than 50% are foreign nationals. The presence of the students from more than 45 different countries makes it a truly international school and provides an opportunity to the students from different backgrounds to come closer and develop a better understanding of each other’s cultures and traditions.

Faculty

The College has a highly professional and well-qualified faculty hired from both, Pakistan and China. Examination results of past years speak volumes about the competence and dedication of the teachers of the College. Especially the Pak-based teachers represent the best academic institutions of Pakistan and have been serving for several years at institutions which are renowned internationally. College has introduced in-house teacher training system and also provide training facilities in collaboration with British Council and UK Edexcel International.

Sports & Co-curricular Activities

Through a comprehensive programme of sports and extracurricular activities, the College tries to inculcate qualities of ethics, morality and character among its students. Students are taught that it is more important to play and participate in an activity than trying to win at any cost. Sports events are held regularly which include Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Cycling and a number of track and field events. Annual Sports Day in fall every year is a regular feature of the College Calendar.

Besides sports various national and international days are celebrated in the College and functions are held to mark these days. Moreover, through quizzes, public speaking contests, debates and dramatics, College provides a chance to develop qualities of head and heart to the students. A year book is brought out annually reflecting the activities of the students and spirit of the College. This magazine not only server as a forum for the expression of activities for the students, it also provides opportunities to them to hone to their writing skills thus developing the intellectual aspect of their personalities. Educational trips and excursions and held regularly every year where in students are taken to factories, industries, press, places of historical importance and leisure spots.

A newsletter is published every month to keep the parents informed about various activities going on in the College. Parent-Teacher Meeting and Open Days are held twice every year to give a chance to the parents to meet and discuss progress of their wards with the respective teachers.

Facilities

The College has started a Career Guidance Program for the students and the parents concerned. This is to help and direct students towards their possible future goals. Providing help and support in admissions, scholarships and transcripts is done by our career guidance team comprising of three senior member of the College.

The College has a number of well-equipped laboratories, namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing and Language labs. All labs have state-of-the-art facilities and cater to every need of academic curricula of students. Recently all the labs have been refurnished and upgraded. New furniture and apparatus has been brought in. Renovation work has also been done in the classrooms, offices, staff room and reception area.

College has a large gymnasium with an indoor basketball court, badminton court, table tennis tables and modern exercising equipment. A P.E. teacher is always present in the gymnasium to teach and help the students in various games and sports.

The College has two blocks where classes for senior and junior students are held separately. College also has a spacious multi purpose hall where examination and cultural events are held. Every fortnight, students are also shown educational and entertaining films.

The College has its own transport fleet to provide transport facilities to students and staff.
